Apple Crumble
Ingredients
For the filling:-
3 large Cox’s apples peeled and cored and cut into pieces
25g (1oz) brown sugar
1 pinch of ground cinnamon
For the topping:-
100g (4oz) plain flour
50g (2oz) sunflower margarine
75g (3oz) oats
75g (3oz) brown sugar
25g (1oz) sultanas or currants
Serves 4-5
Each serving = 1 portion of your 5-A-Day
Method
- Pre heat oven to 180c / 250f / Gas Mark 4
- Place flour and margarine in a bowl and rub together using finger tips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and oats.
- Place the chopped apples into an oven proof dish and sprinkle over the sugar and cinnamon, mix well.
- Put the crumble mix on top of the apples then bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes until the crumble mixture is browned and the fruit is bubbling.

Delicious served with low fat custard made with semi or skimmed milk |
