Chicken Nuggets
Ingredients
225g (8oz) bread crumbs
½ tsp garlic powder
1 egg
125 ml (4 fl oz) semi skimmed milk
900g (2 lb) diced chicken breast
Serves 4 – 5
Each serving = 1 portion of your 5-A-Day
Method
- Preheat oven to 200c / 400f / Gas Mark 6
- Toast the bread lightly and reduce to fine bread crumbs using a cheese grater, and then add the garlic powder.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a large plastic bag.
- Beat the egg into a bowl with the milk and add the chicken pieces, then toss into the breadcrumbs and coat evenly.
- Arrange the chicken pieces on a lightly greased baking sheet, and bake in a pre heated oven for 10 minutes or until browned and crisp.
Top Tip
Serve with a portion of peas or beans and this meal would provide 2 portions of your 5-A-Day. |
